Under 8 Boys and Girls FAQ’s

What age does my child need to be to be eligible to play in 2024?
They need to be at least 7 years of age as at 1 May 2024.

I have a daughter; what are her football options in 2024?
They can play in an all under 8 girls team or join an under 8 mixed team (boys and girls).

When do 2024 registrations open?
They are open now. Register here 

What are the registration fees?
**Early Bird Discount**
Register before December 31 and get $20 off.

**After Dec 31st**
Child Player 1 - $170.00

When do you need to register by?
Registrations remain open till 30 June 2024; however to assist with planning the club encourages registrations to be processed by February or March.

When are matches?
Under 8 Boys and mixed teams play on Sunday mornings; usually at 8:45am.*
Under 8 Girls teams play on Friday evenings; usually around 6:00pm.

The club will try to arrange one Friday 6pm match throughout the season; to ensure the kids get to experience a match under lights.

When is Training?
A one hour training session each week is conducted; usually commencing at 4:30. The day of the week will be confirmed by February.

 

Other game day facts for under 8’s footy in 2024…
• Match duration – 4 x 12 minute quarters.
• Ground size – 80m long
• Ball size - Size 2.
• Tackling – No tackling
• Mouthguards – Are compulsory
• Home matches – Held at Chelsea Rec Reserve
• Away matches scheduled in locations from Mordialloc, across to Devon Meadows and down to Mornington.
